Education and Training

Dr. Mohamad Sebai completed residency training in General Surgery at Montefiore Hospital–Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Preventive Medicine at The Mount Sinai Hospital, where he also earned a Master of Public Health. He went on to complete an ACGME-accredited Interventional Pain Medicine Fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital, one of the world’s leading centers for pain medicine.

Dr. Sebai has held critical academic and clinical roles and has made substantial contributions to pain medicine and public health. His research has advanced understanding of chronic pain, improved access to preventive care, enhanced pain control, and helped reduce the risks of opioid misuse. His work has influenced clinical practice at Mount Sinai, the Veterans Affairs health system, and the New York City Department of Health, with national and international impact.

With more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and over 300 citations, Dr. Sebai is a widely published researcher and frequent presenter at national and international meetings. His academic excellence has been recognized with induction into Alpha Omega Alpha and Delta Omega, the most prestigious honor societies in medicine and public health. Today, Dr. Sebai is dedicated to helping patients who have suffered from chronic pain regain function, independence, and quality of life through advanced interventional and multidisciplinary care.
