Is There a Recovery Period After Interventional Pain Management For My Elbow, Hand, or Wrist?

Most of our pain management treatment options create their results with little to no recovery time. Depending on the treatment, you may experience minor numbness, swelling, redness, or discomfort for up to a week. You may also need to secure your treatment area for up to a week after therapy to prevent further damage as it heals.

Surgical intervention may require a longer recovery period, which usually lasts for a week or two (based on the extent of the operation). During your initial consultation, your provider will ensure that you have a complete understanding of the procedure, how it works, and what kind of recovery period you might experience after it’s over.

How Durable Medical Equipment Can Help with Hand, Wrist, and Elbow Pain

At the Advanced Relief Institute, we believe that comprehensive care is the key to successful pain management and long-term relief. As part of our multidisciplinary approach, we offer our patients the use of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) to support the healing process for patients suffering from hand, wrist, and elbow pain. This equipment plays a crucial role in both the treatment and recovery phases and gives us the ability to ensure that our patients are always receiving the most effective care possible.

Durable Medical Equipment includes a variety of devices and tools designed to support the body's natural healing process, reduce pain, and prevent further injury. These may include braces, splints, supports, compression devices, and ergonomic tools tailored specifically to the patient's condition. At the Advanced Relief Institute, we carefully select and recommend DME that complements our other treatment modalities, ensuring that each patient receives a customized care plan that addresses their unique needs.

How Can Durable Medical Equipment Help?

For those with chronic conditions such as arthritis or tendonitis, Durable Medical Equipment can provide ongoing support, helping to manage pain and improve function over time. By incorporating DME into your treatment plan, our team can ensure that you have the tools you need to regain strength, mobility, and independence.

  • Braces and splints can immobilize the affected area, allowing tissues to heal properly without the risk of further damage.
  • Compression devices can reduce swelling and inflammation, enhancing comfort and promoting faster recovery.
  • Ergonomic tools can help patients modify their daily activities to minimize stress on the joints, reducing the likelihood of aggravating the injury.
